Fishguard 2014/20

Every year when we visit Great Brittany we go to Wales and stay in our favorite B&B ever. Nearby the town of Fishguard, where I found this very nice LYS with a tearoom adnex for my hubbie to wait for me in the garden as I stroll around the shop.
This year I found some very nice yarns. Amongst them this Araucania Ranco Sock  Yarn I used to knit - this time form my daughter -  my pattern Invernessies. 
 

Invernessies 2014/03

Een nieuwe sok gebaseerd op een oude visserstrui die ik in een boek van Michael Pearson (70's) vond uit de streek rond Inverness. Het typerende van dit patroon is dat er geen averechte steken naast de kabel worden gebreid. Er zitten wel zogenaamde diamanten naast de kabels die met averechte steken worden gebreid. In deze versie wordt de kabel met de diamanten aan beide kanten van elkaar gescheiden door verdraaide steken.

A new sock based on a stitch pattern I found in an early book by Michael Pearson (70's) from the area of Inverness. The typical part of the pattern should be no purled stitches between the cable and the rest of the pattern. In this version it is a cable with a purled diamond on both sides divided from each other with travelling stitches.
